FREELANCE: She Broke My Heart By Ifeoluwa Afinjuomo

Image
I just got off a call with a female friend, we talked for a while, which was soothing.  She shared her thoughts on   the ongoing elections and how the youths have become more interested in politics. I was definitely interested in that so we really disected that topic of conversation. She later  asked if I was coming for 'THE CONFLUENCE', at first I heard Cornflakes😂...  "what is cornflakes"? I asked in a witty manner. She bursted out laughing and replied "It's not cornflakes, I said  confluence". "It's a law dinner party for customs" she tried explaining. But then I really couldn't flow anymore with the conversation because I couldn't relate so the call was cut short and it ended.        After the call, I was perplexed that I reached out to get more information from Vice President LSS,Ipoademihan Temilade on what The CONFLUENCE entails:            "The Law Dinner is a major  highlight from ...

ADEDOJA ABATI: OOULAWSS MALE PERSONALITY OF THE WEEK

Image
First, I must appreciate the entire team of 'LSS Personality of the Week' for this rare privilege and benevolence accorded to me.  "It is in the character of very few men to honour without envy, a friend who has prospered " Aeschylus. The team has the few men. The impact is on those privileged to read this, it is quite voluble and time will not be friendly enough to delineate all. But one thing is certain, that there are incredible intellectuals "housed" by the Faculty of Law, Olabisi Onabanjo University whose stories are not told, people who are doing excellently well academically, leadership-cum-career wise, and even in earnestly contending for the Faith. While it is true that there could be innumerable personalities who are trying to keep their heads above water in the spheres aforementioned, it is my perspective that with the right platforms for the excellent minds among them to share their success stories, these people will learn, unlearn, ...

POETRY: You ~ ADEBO GLORY

YOU In a castle deeply hidden from civilization my world exists.  A world of unicorns, happiness, never-dying flowers and all that isn't real.  So far from the harsh reality of life,  so serene I forget the fire edging closer and threatening to consume all that is me.  The hardest part of our existence is finding a little peace.  Isn't all we do in life to be at peace in our souls?  Yet not so many people find such peace in their life.  Most people do when they're on the brink of death, others don't find it even after their demise.  Some are lucky to find it when they are still young while others do when their bones are weak.  Some people find peace in the arms of their soul mates, while others do in a field of their favorite flowers.  Some consider family as peace while others find peace in staring at the sunset.  You came into my life like a force of nature.  I couldn't push you away as much as I didn't want to.  The fir...
