ADEDOJA ABATI: OOULAWSS MALE PERSONALITY OF THE WEEK

First, I must appreciate the entire team of 'LSS Personality of the Week' for this rare privilege and benevolence accorded to me.

"It is in the character of very few men to honour without envy, a friend who has prospered" Aeschylus. The team has the few men.

The impact is on those privileged to read this, it is quite voluble and time will not be friendly enough to delineate all.
But one thing is certain, that there are incredible intellectuals "housed" by the Faculty of Law, Olabisi Onabanjo University whose stories are not told, people who are doing excellently well academically, leadership-cum-career wise, and even in earnestly contending for the Faith.

While it is true that there could be innumerable personalities who are trying to keep their heads above water in the spheres aforementioned, it is my perspective that with the right platforms for the excellent minds among them to share their success stories, these people will learn, unlearn, relearn and retrace their steps to getting it right, even before time runs out...that way, everyone grows, TOGETHER.

The influence is sharing my story and putting my personality out there to the world, with the rays for people to catch the echoes of the infinite in that which God has prospered my hands to do...now that is on me.

Ezekiel:  How much does the honor mean to you?

I would rather I see it as a privilege which many covet but ends up with very few men.

Ezekiel: And what advice do you have for the students of the faculty of law, Olabisi Onabanjo University?

First, bear in mind that the system created for our dear country is one that is meant to frustrate us, and when it does just that, it denies us of our dreams and aspirations.
Hence, reality dawns on us that *the future belongs to very few men- those who dared go the extra miles...where it's not crowded*.
This deduces that, if you want to change the world, change yourself, then your 'position'. It is why Leo Tostoy said: "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself"

Also, it is said that: the more value you add to yourself, the more indispensable you become. To think that the "little" extras you do outside the four-walled classrooms have, when consolidated, a ripple effect of the 'big bang' after school.

Endeavour to plan well for the future, take academics very seriously, work hard and network with the right people, and join the community of like-minded personalities. Maybe you don't know, there's a circle no one specifically tells you about, it is your duty to find it and *join* in.

What is this session if I don't imbue here, the vision of the creme-de-la-creme company on Campus; Legal Magnates and Company. It, in simple terms gave us purpose, I quote;
"preparing for the future from now, by developing, scriptures-believing, most intelligent, prolific and wealthiest lawyers of our times, through constant exposures and practice"*. Emphasis on constant.
This was what Aristotle discovered and made him voice out, he said;
*We are what we repeatedly do, excellence, then, is not an act but a habit".

The future belongs to us, ABSOLUTELY!

I was hoping I still have more questions that will gear more on this but it appears that's all...

I may want to add to this to eke out the essence of the interview, if you don't mind...

Very well,
I am Adedoja Abraham Abati, 500 level student of the prestigious Faculty of Law, Olabisi Onabanjo University; a Christian, God-acknowledging-aspirant to the Nigerian Bar.

I am a global volunteer, social development goals enthusiast, a content creator and a Photography enthusiast.

As an undergraduate, my leadership experience cuts across several organizations and bodies. I am currently the President of the Infinity Foundation while also serving as the Registrar (Vice President) of the Legal Magnates and Company, OOU chapter.
I am equally a Fellow of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), a Fellow of the Savvy Fellowship, a member of the Millenium Campus Network (MCN), a Student member of the Chartered Institite of Arbitrators (CIArb), a student Volunteer at Amnesty International, an Intern Champion at the International Model United Nations (IMUN), a team lead at The Vanguard Africa's Mentorship programme and the present Head of Department, Street Law and Community Services Department, OOULAW CLINIC, to mention a few.

Before now, I was privileged to have served as the President of Veecee Success Stories, a campus organisation platform filled with intellectual minds geared towards celebrating the successes of individuals par excellence, while doubling as a Campus Associate for a number of Organisations.
I once spearheaded a team to the NULAI's National Client Interviewing and Counselling Skills Competition in 2022, an experience that left an unquenchable thirst for knowledge in me, one I don't think it can be wheted, yet.

With God's help and that of like-minded individuals, I have gained working experience as an undergraduate Intern in some of Africa’s most reputable Legal firms; Templars, Banwo & Ighodalo, Bloomfield LP, UUBO, Otaru &Otaru...to state few . It was an opportunity on a silver platter to have virtually interned with White & Case LLP and Linklaters LLP, both in England and China respectively.

Ezekiel:  I'm glad to have you here, once again...
